Old Brown Java coffee or Old Government Java is an aged coffee.  Grown on the Ijen Plateau at over 1400 meters above sea level, the beans are picked and then stored in open sheds for up to 3 years and exposed to the warm, moist air during the rainy season.  This ageing process changes the beans from green to a light brown with the flavour gaining strength but losing acidity.  The result is a dark roasted coffee with a full body and a rich flavour with a wonderful spicy aftertaste.

Best brewed in a cafetiere or filter.
